February 2024. For this new design, I had a lot of ideas: an OLED screen, a big PCB (instead of a mess of wires), multiplexers, debounce filters for the encoders, silicone push-buttons with integrated LEDs…
Spoiler: not everything worked as expected!
I learned a valuable lesson: the more complex the design, the more problems you encounter. It’s intuitive, but like many things in life, the lesson only truly sinks in when you experience it firsthand.
Not everything went well, but some experiments were very successful (in fact, everything except the buttons and the flawed PCB design). Here are some pictures of this V2, completed in July 2024.

I had the occasion to show my two prototypes to fellow composers that showed quite some interest in them.
That’s when I began to consider the possibility of commercializing such a product ; and the upcoming university year was going to put me right on that track… See you next week!
