January 2026 – During the « holidays » (more like working while the family was around!), I had planned all my orders of components and parts to build 20 units of my controller, baptized « Logos ». (Game: try to explain why in the comments (several true answers!!!))
I learned about logistics: good thing I chose to leave some room for delays!
Although I had taken care of the mistakes I made with the alpha version, I finally acknowledged the actual time building a full beta unit took me. Not exhaustively, it involved: 3D printing, electronics soldering, programming micro-controllers, wood cutting, sanding and varnishing, screwing electronics and mechanical parts…
In short: it is way too time-consuming at this stage of the project!
Good thing it was my main goal for the month, before leaving France for an internship in Berlin. It was long and exhausting, but finally I managed to build 19 (out of the 20 planned) beta units! (Yeah, it seems I’m going to lose one unit at each step… Stay tuned!)
Some of those units are currently being delivered in several countries, to composers that accepted to try them and give me some feedback (for both hardware and software!)
One thing is certain: my next big challenge, perhaps the biggest since I started, will be to find a way to industrialize the production of Logos! If you have some connections that might help, feel free to send me a DM!
For now, I have to monitor this beta-testing program. ✍ I’ll keep you posted… See you next week!
