« The wood, the metal, and the customer discovery »

September 2025. After a very instructive two weeks Summer School in Fribourg offered by the Peel, it was time to begin a gap year where I’d finaly be full time on my MIDI controller project! I came back to La Fabrique and started working on an electromagnetic compatible design for my printed circuit boards (thanks Hanane for all your advices and your experienced overlook!) as well as on a first Metal and Wood enclosure (Thanks Fred and Didier for teaching me some basic rules of aluminium sheet design !)

At the same time, I took part in the brand new Entrepreneur Take Year organised by my engineering school CentraleSupélec and its incubator, 21st by CentraleSupélec. I learned a lot about the customer discovery process under the coaching of Iain Wallace and Jean-François Gallouïn: they weren’t the first to tell me about it, I know, I apologize…

I finally accepted to crawl out of my cave, go out there, and meet my potential clients to verify that, indeed, my product addresses real pain-points of their working routine, and not only mine. And the findings were interesting… See you next week !
